Special Features

The delectable aromas originating from the kitchen reflect the care we take in preparing three home-cooked meals - each one made with attention to personal dietary needs and served in a family-style setting.  Whether taking in an afternoon walk, reading the newspaper before dinner or retiring with a cup of tea at bedtime, experience the independence of making choices, just like home.

Family and friends are welcome to visit throughout the day and evening hours, getting acquainted with staff and becoming familiar with life at The Dixon House.  We also encourage outings, such as weekly luncheon at a nearby cafĂ©, attending to those personal errands or a special shopping trip.  Those with a passion for travel are free to schedule a vacation with lifelong friends or enjoy a weekend stay with grandchildren during the holidays.

Comforts of Home

The atmosphere at The Dixon House is warm and comfortable and just like home.  With 18 distinctive, accommodating single-occupancy rooms, each with a private bath, this grand house affords our residents the privacy and comfort to which they are so accustomed.  We encourage each resident to bring treasured heirlooms and mementos from home to furnish and decorate their room for a sense of familiarity and uniqueness.

Just as they would be at home, Dixon House residents can host a family holiday gathering or entertain guests in the beautifully appointed living room, charming dining room or cozy library and enjoy the freedom to do what they like.  The expansive front porch and screened porches, private garden and patio are the perfect backdrop for relaxing with a good book, visiting with out-of-town family and friends or just listening to the sounds of nature.
